We regret that at this time, OMBR is unable to take any more dogs. We have a critical shortage of foster homes and we have no room for new intakes.
Who We Are
As a non-profit rescue, Ozark Mountain Basset Rescue (OMBR) is completely dependent on the generosity of others. OMBR does not have paid employees, only volunteers who graciously donate their time to these deserving hounds. OMBR volunteers have jobs, families, and other important commitments. We do Basset rescue because we want to make a difference for those Basset Hounds that are not blessed with good homes. OMBR is dedicated to placing Bassets in our care into loving and dedicated forever homes. Our rescue covers NW to Central Arkansas as well as Eastern Oklahoma.
OMBR does not have kennels. Rescued dogs stay in foster homes, where they receive vet care, nutritious food, and love. While in foster care, dogs are evaluated by a veterinarian and receive any treatment necessary, all dogs are spayed/neutered and are placed on heartworm preventative before going to their adopted home. In addition, foster homes provide a personality evaluation of each dog to ensure a better match between dog and prospective forever homes.
