News

Central Arkansas Rescue Effort (CARE) for Animals, Inc. has assisted in the rescue of over 2,300 animals. We have fully funded or subsidized spay/neuter procedures for 8,400 pets so far. We sponsor spay/neuter clinics for low-income families each month
. Visit our website for details.

Who We Are

Our purpose is to conduct animal rescue by providing medical care and placing animals facing impending euthanasia into foster and permanent homes; to increase awareness for the need to spay/neuter all pets; to establish Arkansas's first mobile spay/neuter clinic; and to work with and advise animal shelters in central Arkansas on animal welfare issues.

Adopting a Friend

You may submit an online adoption application; please specify, by name, the pet that is the subject of your application. Our adoption fee is $150 for dogs and $125 for cats. Each of our adoptable pets are tested for heartworms (dogs) and feline HIV/feline leukemia (cats), given their shots, spayed or neutered, and microchipped.

Volunteering and Donations

We are not a shelter and reply upon volunteer foster families to provide our adoptable pets with homes and socialization. Foster homes are a vital part of CARE's adoption effort. Without their support, we cannot add new adoptable pets to our program. Please consider volunteering to foster an adoptable cat or dog! If you are interested, please submit the foster family application located on our website. Fostering, and knowing that you saved a dog or cat from certain death, is a rewarding experience and an act of generosity. Too many animals are euthanized each day -- we want to give those adoptable pets a chance.

We also welcome volunteers to show animals at our CARE headquarters at 5516 Kavanaugh Blvd., Little Rock, Arkansas, 72207, each Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 pm. In addition, we offer numerous other volunteer opportunities -- such as, helping at the monthly spay/neuter clinics, assisting in our gift shop (closed Sunday only), participating with our fundraising events -- so, please, contact us if you are interested. or submit the volunteer application located on our website. If you cannot volunteer, donations are always welcome! Visit our "wish list" page for details.
