Most of our dogs are located in Knoxville, Tennessee.
However, we do have volunteers in the Decatur, AL area to assist any potential Alabama adopters. Please contact us for more information and to learn how you can meet one of our dogs.
Who We Are
TVGRR (an all volunteer, not-for-profit group) offers Goldens for adoption considered to be of sound and desirable temperment, but makes no guarantees as to a Goldens’ behavior once it has been placed in a new situation. All Goldens offered for adoption through the TVGRR program have been spayed/neutered, if old enough (or will be at TVGRR’s expense later), fully vacinated, microchipped, heartworm checked and treated for heartworms if necessary and put on heartworm preventative. No health guarantees are given as to future defects or illness.
As we are a 501(c)3 (not-for-profit) group, all donations are both appreciated and are tax deductible.
TVGRR formed in July, 1997 with goals:
· to facilitate the adoption of displaced and unwanted Golden Retrievers into permanent, loving homes;
· to provide a good quality of life for homeless Golden Retrievers;
· to educate the public in responsible dog ownership;
· to reduce the abuse and neglect of unwanted Golden Retrievers through rehabilitation and adoption;
· to seek to reduce the numbers of unwanted Golden Retrievers.
Adopting a friend
We require an Adoption Application & Contract and the fee ranges from $100 - $150, dependent on age. For senior dogs (10 and over), we request a donation. We check references, interview families and do home visits.
