**********Presenting our STAR PETS!**********

The Lee County Humane Society has a program for pets at the shelter who have been here the longest: They become our "Star Pets"!   Our “Star Pets” have a discounted adoption processing fee of $50. Two cats and two dogs are featured as the shelter's “Star Pets.”  Look for our special board in the shelter lobby featuring photos and info about these wonderful pets. Each animal will remain a “Star Pet” until it is adopted and finds a forever home.

Foster Homes Urgently Needed!

If you are interested in helping the shelter, fostering is one way to make a huge impact. The Lee County Humane Society manages a growing foster care program that offers an exceptional experience for animal lovers who aren’t looking to adopt, but want to make a difference in the lives the animals at the shelter. Animals in need of support beyond the shelter environment benefit from being fostered.

Animals in need of foster care include:
  • Fostering dogs or puppies for 2-4 weeks
  • Puppies & Kittens who are too young for adoption
  • Sick & recovering animals that require special medical attention
  • Mistreated animals in need of socialization and care
  • Animals who do not fare well in the shelter setting

We always need more fosters for the many animals that visit the shelter each year. In order to foster, you must be able to provide a safe, stable, loving environment for the animals in your care. There are a few simple steps to the foster application, and once you complete an interview with the LCHS Foster Coordinator, you are ready to bring animals in your home. If you are interested in fostering, contact Heather Meadows at heather@leecountyhumane.org.

A foster animal’s stay with you may be temporary, but the impact on their life and your own will be forever.
