About Us

Please look through our sweet pets and let one of them become a part of your family . We also have many kittens and puppies that need loving homes.
As always we need donations. Cash is always great and welcome. You can mail a check or donate directly to our paypal account on our website at www.baarcshelter.org We also always, always need supplies. Dog food and cat food are always needed as well as newspapers, bleach, towels, cleaning supplies, and crates of any size.

BAARC's Adoption Fees:
All cats are 55.00
All dogs under 2 years are 125.00
All dogs over 2 years are 80.00
All adoption fees cover all UTD shots and spay/neuter
********BAARC reserves the right to change adoption fees at anytime. Fees may be more if the dog is a pure bred or has to undergo heart worm treatment .*********
Adopting A Friend
Max is being boarded with us until he finds his forever home . One of our customers found him and brought him in to stay with as they have a full house already . He is very energetic and playful . He loves to run and play in the yard and is good with other dogs . Please give us a call if you would like to find out more about Max !

Who We Are
BAARC - Birmingham's Animal Adoption and Rescue Center is a no-kill res and part of the no-kill movement . Our mission is to help any unwanted or abandoned animal that needs a chance at a loving forever home . We also will assist in low cost spay and neuter programs through the help of other organizations such as FCDF and Alabama Spay Neuter Clinic , to help other people with animals in need . BAARC offers low cost boarding for rescues that do not have a facility and families who are suffering financial problems . Due to the large number of families losing their homes and the economy in general we are seeing rising numbers of owner surrenders . Your help with donations always helps us to help more animals in need !

Our shelter hours are Saturday 11:00 -4:00 or you may call and make an appointment during the week to see a specific animal .
If you are coming to look at a specific animal you have seen online , please call us first . Some of the animals on our Petfinder and website are courtesy listings , or are in foster homes or may have been adopted and not updated yet . So please call 205-951-7557 or after hours at 205-598-0454 to see if a specific animal is still up for adoption . Thank you !
