Who We Are
On June 16th 2007 Maddie's Adoption Center opened in Northport-right behind the Pizza Hut. 2510 36th St. Suite B. Northport, Alabama 35476.
Maddie’s Adoption Room is located in the back of Pet Supplies “Plus.” We are supported with a grant provided by Maddie’s Fund. Maddie’s Fund®, the Pet Rescue Foundation (www.maddiesfund.org), was established in 1999 to help fund the creation of a no-kill nation. Dave Duffield, Founder of PeopleSoft, Inc., and his wife Cheryl, created Maddie’s Fund. The Duffields made a promise to their Miniature Schnauzer, Maddie, to give back to her kind in dollars that which Maddie gave to them in friendship and love. The mission of Maddie’s Fund is to revolutionize the status and well-being of companion animals.
Maddie’s Adoption room rescues animals from Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter. Our goal is to guarantee adoptions for all healthy shelter dogs and cats from Tuscaloosa County in seven years. We hope to save all treatable shelter animals within ten years.
Our Wish List
Baby Wipes, Paper Towels, Cat Litter, Blue & Pink index cards, ink pens, 33 & 13 galloon garbage bags, cat toys & treats, dog toys & treats, towels, washclothes & baby blankets (new & used), canned cat & dog food, and plenty of newspapers!
If you bring your donations to the store when the adoption room is not open, just leave them with the store manager. Please attach your name and address with your donations so we will know who helped and send out Thank You Cards.
Adopting a friend
If you see a pet you like on petfinder, you can call us for more information. Or the best thing is just to come visit the little guy or girl in the store! There is an application to fill out. Our adoption fee is $75 for both dogs and cats. If they are older than 6 months, they have already been spayed or neutered. If they are younger, they come with a certificate to be fixed when they are 6 months. Yes, this does mean the spay or neuter is at no cost to you The $75 also includes the animal's first shots, which they've all already had; some even have their Rabies and HeartWorm tests.

We are located in Pet Supplies "Plus." We are in the same shopping center as Old Navy, Circuit City, & SteinMart. We are in between SteinMart and the nail place. If you're still unsure where we are located, please call us for further directions.
