From rags to riches!!! We have just moved into our new home. The new shelter has three life rooms where cats or small dogs will not need to be placed in cages. The cat room is equiped with Kitty Condos where cats might have up to 6 cubicals each in which to live. We now have a Puppy/Small Animal Room, a Break Room for our wonderful volunteers, a Bonding Room, indoor outdoor Kennels for long term dogs and much more. We can not thank the City of Valdez, and all those who made donations, enough for making the dream of a decent animal shelter a reality!
Who We Are
The Valdez Animal Shelter works closely with the non-profit group, Friends of the Valdez Animal Shelter, to provide the best possible care for all the animals that walk through the shelter's front door. Adopting a friend
All the dogs and cats that are adopted are spayed or neutered, recieve a rabies shot and are microchipped at no extra cost to the new owner. The cost of adopting a cat is $25 and adopting a dog costs $30, which includes a Valdez city dog license. The cost to adopt other animals varies.
We use Patented Kuranda Dog Beds because they are durable, chew proof and easy to clean. If you would like to donate a bed to us, click here.
Come Visit Us!
The Valdez Animal Shelter is opened Thursday through Monday 11:30am to 4:30pm, Tuesday 11:30am to 6:00pm and Wednesday 2:30pm to 4:30pm. Special arrangments can be made to veiw an animal by calling 907-835-4560 or 2286 and asking for Shana.
