We are pleased and excited to announce that we have obtained our 501 3(C) non-profit status. All donations from July 1, 2002 are tax deductible. Our tax ID # is 81-0609673. Thank you to everyone who has been so generous to the Kitty and K-9 Connection critters. Without your donations, we could not assist so many of our fuzzy friends. Who We Are
Kitty and K-9 Connection - A New Leash on Life is an organized rescue organization located in Anchorage Alaska. Our focus includes pets from Anchorage Animal Control, referrals from veterinary clinics, occasional sponsored owner releases (which are determined on a case by case basis and must meet specific criteria) and other community referrals. Our special focus will be to help provide pet placement services to local senior citizens to ensure their pets find loving homes if placement is required, or to provide temporary, discounted boarding services. The majority of pets in rescue are fostered in our homes and there are three of us. Cindy and Sue primarily do the cat/kitten part in their homes and Carol, with the help of her husband, Bruce, the dog/puppy part, though we have been known to do both. Adopting a friend
Our goal is to pursue placement into permanent, caring homes. When that final match is made, we then make the "connection". The result is the pet has a new home and the family has a pet to love. All pets have had medical check-ups, have been micro-chipped and vaccinated, and those 6 months or older are (or will) be spayed or neutered before adoption. Cats have been leukemia tested. A home visit is part of the application process, and for this reason we do not place outside Alaska. Please understand there is an adoption process and fee. These fees are then turned around and used to help another pet in their medical needs, or towards the rescue of another unfortunate castaway from the Animal Control facility before their time is up.

You will find us at various functions around town throughout the year. Come see us at Saturday Market this summer! You can also find us at Animal Food Warehouse the 3rd Saturday every month for our "Meet and Greet" from 11-6pm and microchip clinic from 1-4pm. Check the website for any changes.
