Four Paws Rescue

Our Mission

Four Paws Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization that is dedicated to helping homeless dogs and cats. Four Paws has been rescuing dogs and cats since 2000. We rescue stray and abandoned cats, dogs, puppies and kittens from high-kill shelters, place them in caring foster homes (if available) and then adopt them into loving, life-long homes. We have placed over 3,500 companion animnals in to loving homes, while enriching the lives of their adoptive families.

Our Dogma

The reason dogs and cats have to be rescued in the first place is that there are too many of them and not enough homes! We believe that the best way to attack the overpopulation problem is to attack the root of the problem - prevent more dogs and cats from being born. Every pet that Four Paws rescues is spayed or neutered before being placed in his/her adoptive home. We strive to educate the public on the importance of spaying and neutering.

GRANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM PETCO

Four Paws Rescue recently received a grant from the PETCO Foundation in the amount of $8,700.00 to be used for food & vet costs for dogs and cats. "It continues to be our pleasure to partner with your organization in our shared goal of helping animals. Together we really do make a difference in their lives," Paul Jolly, Vice President and Director, PETCO Foundation.

We were very happy to receive this generous grant from the PETCO Foundation and we also thank Shannon Hunt for her work at the Riverdale PETCO store. Shannon has continued to hold adoptions at this store for 5 years, and the Saturday adoption event has not been missed since December 2004. The Riverdale PETCO store is 6th in the number of adoptions at PETCO in the Nation since 2008. Many thanks to the PETCO Foundation for their generous support in our work and to Shannon for her ongoing efforts in finding homes for homeless animals.
