OUR SMALL SHELTER IS VERY FULL!
We regret that at this time we can NOT accept "new" cats due to lack of space.
We are activley seeking, with the help of realtors, a new building or land suitable for a shelter - BUT we need the funds to purchase a property!!
We need both small and large contributors to our building fund. If ever you wanted to help homeless cats now is the time ... estimates are that a new building or acreage to build on will cost us a bare minimum of $200,000.00 to purchase.
If you are in a postion to make a sizable contribution to a 501c non profit, please e-mail our treasurer kunkelman@epix.net for more information.

Giant Gift a la Card Program
Weis Market Gift Card Program -
IT SO EASY!!!!! Giant and Weis (food market) gift cards. They can be used the same as cash at any Giant & Weis store. The good thing however is One By One profits from you buying the card from us instead of just using cash at the store.
Both are available in various denominations - $10, $20, $25 & $50. We make 5% off these cards. It may not seem like a lot but if a lot of people started using them regularly it would really add up over a year's time frame. So it isn't buying anything that you really don't want and you can still help out the kitties.
Everyone shops for food so this is an easy one to take advantage of. Please contact LynnR at 610-916-1321 to purchase your cards.

One by One currently needs volunteer help at our small rural shelter... For more information please PHONE the shelter manager at 610-683-6593.
If you would like to learn more about our fostering program please email Elaine for more information at: lukin28@netzero.net

Nova has been waiting for quite some time for a person (or family) to discover him. He enjoys the quiet life of his foster home, lying in his favorite bed or chair, soaking up the rays of the sun, and a full dish of kibble available at all times. But somehow, that is just not the same as having people to call your very own.
Nova is a mild-mannered adult cat who would be PURR-fect for an older couple or a single lady or gentleman, someone who just wants a companion. A little furry friend to sit and stroke, maybe while watching TV together.
Nova is never going to be the type to run and greet you at the door, or socialize with your guests. And he will probably hide from children. But if you have enough time each day to sit and talk to him, pet him or brush his fur, and give him a chin scritchie or two, you can make him a very happy boy. Please click on his name for more info. Help us find Nova a home to retire in. THANK YOU.

One by One has been saving CATS for over a decade. We have a VERY SMALL SHELTER in which we house homeless cats. Following our no-kill policy we care for, feed, vet, and love each and every cat for his/her time with us. The small size of our shelter building determines how many cats we maybe able to help at any given time. We have outgrown our current building and need YOUR help to fund a new bigger and better shelter - PLEASE HELP by donating to our growing building fund today!
One by One has set up a building fund so YOU can have the pleasure of helping destitute kitties have a safe place to go! Donation, small or large, are all 100% tax deductible and welcomed.
You can mail your tax deductible check (marked building fund) to: One by One, P.O. Box 226 Kutztown, Pa 19530 OR click on "MAKE A DONATION" and use your credit card via PayPal.
About Us...
One By One is a "NO-KILL", 501(c) non-profit, cat rescue, started in 1994 near Kutztown, PA . We house about 45 cats in a 5 room heated/air conditioned shelter. We DO NOT cage our cats. Many of our adoptable cats are housed in foster homes. OBO is dedicated to helping abandoned, stray, and injured cats.
Adoption fees, Recycling cans, Donations, Fundraisers and Grants.
We receive NO Federal or local government funding.

If an adopted cat/kitten cannot be kept by the new owner, for whatever reason, per our policy it must be returned to One By One.
We ALWAYS take welcome back our cats!
Please be advised that we reserve the right to refuse any adoption.
Adopting a Friend
All 1x1 cats are vet-checked, given needed/required vaccines, wormed, have a flea treatment, feline leukemia and FIV tested, and are well socialized. In addition, ALL cats over 4 months old are already spayed/neutered . We request a standard adoption form and a donation/adoption fee.
1x1 adopted cats MUST be kept INDOORS and MAY NOT BE DECLAWED. For more information about declawing a cat please click here : Declawing Info
A pre-adoption home visit is required and follow-up phone calls and/or home visits are made to support a good match.
ADOPTION FEE: As of April 1, 2008 - $70.00(cat/kitten) or $120.00 (2 kittens) adoption fees are to defray partial costs involved in the vetting of cat/kitten. ATTENTION UNALTERED KITTEN adopters: In accordance with Pa. Law, a deposit of $20.00 (not included in the $70.00 above) is required. This will be refunded to you once proof that the kitten has been spayed/neutered by a licensed veterinarian. You may choose to donate that $20.00 back to this rescue, but regardless the kitten MUST be altered by 6 months of age.
