More About Sammie

Samantha Sue :) will be going to her new family in AZ in the next month or so. She's one tough lady...and so very sweet and strong. Sammie is a testament to the heart and soul of the GSP! What an honor to have had her here in rescue...and to have been loved by her. We'll miss her, but she is going on to spread the word about love and commitment!!! Meet Sammie! Sammie is not quite one year old. She will be having surgery on 7-11 in order to repair a hip injury she had when she came to Rescue. Her vet believes that the injury is about 3 months old. Sammie is very sweet. She loves everyone she meets and all the dogs, too. She loves to give kisses and to get on your lap. Sammie is house broken, crate trained and walks nicely on leash. After her surgery, she will require quite a bit of physical therapy. Because she is young, her recovery should be a good one. Sammie will be available for adoption after her surgery/PT/spay is complete, around 1-2008. If interested in applying to adopt this beautiful girl, please email gsprescueswco@yahoo.com, or if interested in donating towards her surgery and associated costs, go to the homepage and click on the paypal button! POSTED 7-6-07 UPDATE 08-02-07 Sammie came through surgery with flying colors and has started her physical therapy. She will begin some accupuncture treatments in the next couple of weeks. She is using her leg more everyday and we have high hopes that she will fully recover!! UPDATE 11-18-07 Sammie is doing very well. She is using her leg and has finished her regular PT. We are still doing exercises and massage with her daily in order to help her muscles in her upper thigh and hip to keep on improving. She has done extremely well. Sammie has quite a few applications for her adoption and we look forward to completing the adoption process after the beginning of the new year.
