More About ADOPTED! Jiminy Cr

Hi, my name is Jiminy Cricket, but everyone calls me Cricket (and sometimes Tiny, for obvious reasons!). I am a 7 or 8 year old Bichon/Poodle mix, and I weigh just 6 pounds! I can be adopted for the Senior Dog Rate of $75.00

I think that I have had a hard life, but it is much better now that I am with my foster mom. I love to sit in her lap, and follow her around wherever she goes, and my favorite thing is to snuggle up close in the bed at night. No one ever taught me about house training until I came here, but now that I am being shown where to go, I am doing really well. I even ask my foster mom to take me out when I need to go! I still wear a belly band in the house just in case, and sometimes I still forget where the right place to go is, but I am trying really hard and I'm sure I will have the hang of it in no time.

I also didn't know what a leash was before I came to my new home, but I am getting used to that too, and I like to go for short walks. I think I like my fenced in yard, but I really just want to go out to take care of business and then come right back in, so I don't have to live in a home with a fenced in yard. I'm adventuresome too, as long as my Mom is within eye and ear shot"!

I've lost my teeth due to dental disease and this caused my lower jaw to shrink and become unusable, which sounds really bad but it doesn't bother me at all. I can still eat dry or wet food (I prefer small bites dry food because I have to swallow it whole) and my jaw is the reason my tongue sticks out all the time, which everyone says makes me super cute!

I get along well with other dogs most of the time, though sometimes if I am in mom's lap I will growl at someone who wants to join us, but I never do anything more than growl. I would also do well as your only dog.

I don't mind cats at all, but small children scare me, so please no children under the age of ten. I can be protective over my food sometimes (I think this is because I never got enough of it) and I will growl sometimes if someone tries to touch my food bowl while I'm eating. Since I have no teeth,I cant do any harm to anyone. I am learning to trust that people will feed me enough and that I will have a full belly all the time now. I'm sure that my protectiveness will go away as my foster mom continues to work with me.

I am a really sweet and affectionate dog who cant believe his luck at being found by Small Paws Rescue. I am looking for my forever home, and my forever lap! Could it be yours?
