More About Cooper/ Mini Coope
PLEASE READ THE BIO BELOW COMPLETELY BEFORE CALLING ABOUT THE DOG.
Cooper is a 7-9 year old miniature schnauzer who came to rescue as a stray. His mouth was in horrible shape, even his lips were infected. He's had his teeth cleaned, has been on antibiotics . We don't know what caused the problem, but think he may have tried to get food out of a can with a rough opening, or it may have been cut with broken glass.
In spite of his experience, he is a very sweet little boy. His beard was cut back in order to help his mouth heal, but hey, it's just hair and it will grow back. He has no other known health issues, has been neutered, is up to date on his shots, has been tested for heartworm and is on preventive, and he is housebroken and gets along with other dogs. Cooper does not like to get picked up, so he sounds VERY grouchy when being picked up is a necessity. He is leery of being groomed, especially his mouth, which we assume is due to the traume described above. Since many schnauzers are not good with children under 10 years old, we are assuming he falls into that category, so will not be placed in a home with small children. Cooper's adoption donation is $200.
The Chicago Miniature Schnauzer Club Rescue adopts only to homes in the Chicagoland area, southeast Wisconsin and northwest Indiana. If you have a fenced yard, and can provide a veterinary reference, are interested in this dog AND READY TO ADOPT, please contact Michele (847)926-9920. We cannot hold dogs until you are ready to take them home, as this would keep us from possibly helping another dog that has no where else to go. Michele does work, and gets many, many phone calls, so please be patient about a return phone call.
We do not adopt dogs out as a surprise or a gift. We MUST talk to the person who will be adopting the dog, NO EXCEPTIONS.
Cooper/ Mini Coope is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.
