The Larry & Patches Memorial Fund for Special Needs Kitties

Some spirits are too good, too loving and seem too special to be contained in one body and loved by only one family. This is how it was with Larry and Patches. I am often asked what happens to the cats no one adopts. They simply continue to live out their natural lives in our sanctuary with their foster families if they are never adopted. Sometimes God has other plans for them. Larry and Patches were simply the sweetest, happiest cats! They were filled with patience, love and the joy of being alive, no matter what illnesses befell them. They were loved, supported and admired by so very many people that they couldn't possibly belong to just one family. Now with their spirits freed from the confines of their earthly bodies, they are loved and owned by all who cherished them. Those who admired and loved Patches and Larry have asked us to set up this fund in memory of them. Funds donated in their name will be applied to the continued support those cats in our sanctuary that are not adopted and who live out their lives here, belonging to all of you.

The joy in Catnip Cottage was increased by two sweet cats.
They each had had a problem, but never did have spats.
We loved them both, they loved us too as each waited for a home
Our Catnip Cottage Poet wrote each of them a poem.

And as the days passed swiftly by, we loved them more and more
We almost didn’t want to see them carried out the door.
The hearts of many people, filled with love for both dear ones
And people were then made aware of vet bills healthy sums.

Thus people sent in money, to help them healthy be
But what we didn’t count on and what we couldn’t see
Was that He who made each kitty, would quickly call them home
And that their mission here on earth, was what only He had known.

He knew that funds were needed to care for other’s special needs
The ones that needed vet care, surgery and kind deeds
Thus people who had loved each cat, and would have longed to take them home
Have asked us to set up a fund, so others will have access to health and to a home.

Thus kitties with a special need for health care can be found
Cared for and returned to health and free to run around.
Here at Catnip Cottage to wait for their Forever Home
There to live in health with a family all their own.
