More About Festus-Adopted

9/ 06: Festus is in Maine and is now in a foster home. This is what his foster mom has to say about this Gem: "I wanted to update you on Festus. He is doing really well. He goes to daycare everyday and just gets along with all the dogs. He even wrestles/plays with one we have here called LuLu. He no longer sleeps in his crate at night and likes a folded up blanket on the floor. He is pretty much housetrained. He is however a marker and at daycare will lift his leg inside but he doesn’t at my house. He is such a love. He does not bark and He seems to like older kids. My business partner has two kids ages 8 and 10 and he is great around them. I don’t know about little kids. We were out walking yesterday morning and a cat ran across the street and he really wanted to chase it, fastest I’ve seen him move yet. He is doing well with learning about things indoors. He does not get on the furniture. He can, all my other dogs do, but he doesn’t try to. His legs have kind of a weak muscle tone so the stairs have been hard for him but he goes up and down the 3-4 that go up into my house just fine now and we are working on longer stairs. He will do just fine with this. He can also already jump in and out of my explorer without any problems. He needs work on any commands. He doesn’t come when called, or sit or do any of those types of things. He also has no interest in learning. We will work on this some more. I figure he’s 10 years old. He doesn’t jump on you or pull on the leash when walking, if he doesn’t want to sit, stay or lie down, so be it. As far as the grooming goes. He does not like his feet touched but has been pretty good on the grooming table. As you know we shaved him down because of the mats. He likes being brushed with a soft brush or just your hand. He is very sweet and I think would do very well with other dogs and older kids. The verdict is out on cats. "

. Festus is now in foster care in Maine.
