Our organization was co-founded in April 2003 by Beulah Sherwood (a licensed veterinary technician) and Marjie O'Grady (an experienced SPCA volunteer). Though we both work fulltime jobs and have families in our "normal" life, we decided to go that extra mile and help animals in need...many of which are from our own back yards in Oswego County. Though we are small in size, we have managed to place over 700 pets relying solely on our adoption fees and donations of food, supplies and money from concerned friends wanting to do their part to help. Animals are housed in our homes and the homes of a few diligent friends trying to lend a hand. Jane and Nancy--thank you for all you do! Our mission is to find permanent, loving homes for adoptable animals in need. Pets are acquired from dog control officers, dog pounds, other rescues and private owners--many of these animals faced euthanazia without our help! This is their last chance to find a family to love them and care for them as long as thery live. We think they deserve that, don't you? When contacting us, please understand that we will do our best to be in touch but what we do is STRICTLY volunteer and sometimes our plates are full taking care of the animals that we have and spending a little quality time with our families.
