More About Princess Sugarplum
HERE'S WHAT HER ADOPTERS HAVE TO SAY: (We didn't have space for all the pictures, but wanted to put the comments in.
[Here is a photo of] Princess with Tiger our 19 yrs old cat. Who ever said Chow Chows do not like cats is wrong. Princess really loves on Tiger and you can tell Tiger is happy with all of Princess's tender loving care.
We have a park and field near us and Princess just loves to run. You can tell the joy that is on her face.

Princess Sugarplum's Original Petfinder Listing
Some of you have clicked on this dog's listing just to find out what on earth could have caused us to name this girl Princess Sugarplum. To understand that, allow us to explain a little about Chows.
Chows are somewhat aloof, loyal, fastidious and extremely proud dogs. They take themselves very seriously, and likewise, are extremely serious about their duty to their human(s).
Unfortunately for Chows, however, they are preposterously cute dogs. They have massive pumpkinheads; round cat paws; twinkling teddy-bear eyes; beautiful plumed oversized squirrel tails that arch proudly over their backs; and lionlike "ruffs" of fur around their necks. Their bodies are square like coffeetables, and their short straight legs cause them to have a prancing gait. In short, nature has given Chows the personality of a guard dog in the body of a stuffed animal.
A name like Princess Sugarplum reflects her somewhat self-important nature and her spectacular cuteness, and also allows us to poke a bit of fun at these contradictions at the same time.
Princess Sugarplum is friendly but reserved, has excellent manners and is clearly delighted to meet new humans, although her first attention will go to exploring her new environment.
Princess Sugarplum would enjoy the rituals of daily life with her humans: sitting companionably nearby while her human has a cup of coffee, taking a leisurely walk through (or, as she might think, doing an inspection of) the neighborhood; or watching the world go past her window. She adores riding in cars, and exploring new things and places with her human(s).
The Princess is likely to have many admirers on these journeys, since she is truly a beautiful dog. She is petite for a Chow, and although sturdy, she also very feminine. She is a soft red color with blond highlights, and her brown eyes are tilted just slightly, giving her face a slightly foxy and altogether charming aspect. The Princess telegraphs her intentions by use of her magnificent tail, which curls under her when she is uncertain, and flips up onto her back when she returns to her comfort zone.
Princess Sugarplum was found as a country stray. It is clear she was well-treated, and that she is eager to be a part of someone?s life again. We anticipate that she will make an excellent companion who will amuse and charm her human(s) with her fluffy sense of duty.
