More About BEN

UPDATE: 1-8-05 Ben went to the bridge today and we are very sad but it is nice to know he is in no pain. We will be setting up something later for a special memory of Ben. UPDATE: 8-25-05 Well poor Ben, Since his vetting we have found out the following; he is between 10-12 years old and he is high heartworm positive. The vet was unsure he would make it through the recommended Heartworm treatment so after his vetting we brought him home and will be treating him with a recommended Herbal treatment. We hope to give him just comfort and a safe warm bed to spend his last months and hopefully years. Although this herbal treatment is less expensive than the 700.00 chemical treatment, it is still expensive for us at about half that cost. We discussed it as a family and agreed Ben was too sweet of a dog that appears to be in no pain other than his arthritis (and is now on supplements for that), so we opted to try this and see if we could extend his life. We could sure use some donations for Ben's treatment. If you would like to help us with Ben's medicine, please use our paypal account on the home page of this site, we certainly would appreciate it. Ben will not be for adoption now. He will stay with us until he passes to the bridge. 8-17-05 Ben will be vetted on Aug 23. He is a wonderful dog. Very Gentle and sweet in disposition. He loves being around his people. He seems to be housetrained. He would make a wonderful family pet. BEN is a very gentle large shepherd/collie/husky mix we think. He is a true mixed breed and is so sweet. He was a stray for a while and is kinda beat up right now. His ears are all scabbed from fly bites and his feet are sore from being on the run for a long time. He is wonderful with other dogs, cats and kids. He will be vetted completely and groomed very soon. He does not jump and just wants to lean against you. Ben is maybe 12-13 yrs old now and is a big dog but also needs to gain some weight as he is pretty skinny. We will see if he is housetrained or cratetrained soon. His adoption donation is 145.00. We require a vet reference, home visit and adoption contract. Please e-mail us if you are interested in BEN

BEN is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.
