More About Gil

GIL HAS BEEN ADOPTED!
HERE'S WHAT HIS ADOPTERS HAVE TO SAY:

I am writing to update you on Gil, the Beagle-Lab mix my husband and I adopted in May. We absolutely adore him!!

Gil has adjusted to life quite well and has become a very energetic and loving dog. We moved into a new house in August, and Gil loves patroling the yard to ensure no rabbits enter into his territory! :)

He loves playing with stuffed animals, having his back scratched, and napping. Gil is an amazingly smart dog and we love having him as part of the family!

I've attached some pictures for you to see him napping and patroling.

Thank you for rescuing him!!

Gil's Original Petfinder Listing
Gil, beagle/lab (or blab, if you want to use the scientific name), approximately 50 pounds, young neutered male

In many ways, Gil is the country dog next door. He takes profound enjoyment of each simple detail of his new life, from the smell of the fresh spring grass to the taste of fresh, clean water to the warmth of sun on his tummy as he stretches out in the grass in rapturous enjoyment of a beautiful day.

However, things were not always so easy for Gil. Like a canine Oliver Twist, Gil is a good little fellow who found himself alone and faced with harsh circumstances. He could easily have become hardened through the indifference he encountered during his time as a stray; instead, when he was taken in by two kind strangers (who are sheltering him until he finds a permanent home), he was immediately and profoundly aware of the opportunity he was being offered. In everything he does, Gil seems to be saying, in his doggie way, that he will prove, through his unending devotion, that he is worthy of the chance he has been given.

Gil's gratitude for the care he receives is evident in everything he does, whether in is a soulful look or in his rapturous enjoyment of every aspect of his new life -- eating regularly, being cared for, having a warm bed and toys to play with, and, more than anything, having humans who pet him and love him. His adopter(s) would be able to share in Gil's innocent joy in all of the many good things that life offers.

Gil has been adopted, but if you are interested in finding a wonderful dog of your own, please visit our Web site at http://www.hedgesvillehounds.com.

Gil is up-to-date with routine shots and spayed/neutered.
