Yellow Labrador Retriever

Peykos was adopted by the rescue's Founder, Barbi Carroll, in January of 2005. He had been a very well cared for, and deeply loved member of her family. He was a purebred, 8 1/2 year old, yellow, neutered male Labrador, originally rescued from a local animal shelter.

Peykos is now at Rainbow Bridge with all the other pets who have passed over. His family deeply misses him, but will never forget his smiles and loving goofy personality. He was a dear friend, and they will never forget him.

Peykos' story is one of misfortune, but we hope that it will educate the public about the importance of visiting the shelters personally when their pets go missing. We also hope that it will shed some light on the horrible fact that so many hundreds of purebred Labradors and mixes die each month across our State due to the fact that there are just not enough homes for all the Labs and other animals in our City Shelters. Please spay and neuter your pets, don't add more animals to the problem.

Thank you to everyone who has shown their support and offered their condolences. It has made a difference to the family of Peykos. We feel his death was not in vain, and that a positive difference has been made at that shelter. We love you Peykos, and you will always be missed.
