More About Maisy

MAISY HAS BEEN ADOPTED!
HERE'S WHAT HER ADOPTERS HAVE TO SAY:
""

After being in our home as a foster dog for a few weeks, it became clear that Maisy wasn't going anywhere. She was so frightened when we first brought her home, and she would just sit in the middle of the room and cry. It broke our hearts. But, slowly, as the weeks progressed, little 30 pound Maisy became so attached to our Chessie, BIG 110 pound Dalee, and to us, that we knew she found her forever home. And, we became so enamored with Maisy and her silly antics that we couldn't imagine life without her.

She is now happy and healthy and not so afraid of strangers. Most times you can catch her with a big smile on her face. Her trust in people has been restored almost 100%. And she has found dear friends in her canine sister and brother. And we found a lot of laughs and love in Maisy.

Maisy's Original Petfinder Listing

Maisy - female, young (less than a year) - blue merle medium coat - hard to guess breeds, but very beautiful, possibly Shetland Sheepdog/Aussie mix - 30 pounds - approximately one year of age

Sweet and hopeful, Maisy is filled with youthful promise and would make a wonderful second dog. She is timid, but endearingly expectant, and observes the world with careful interest.

It is difficult to guess Maisey's breed combinations, but she is a lithe and very beautiful little dog. Her dark, velvety head and neck merge with a longer-coated, silky blue merle body, and her eyes are a soft brown. Maisy has extremely direct eye contact, and an eloquently expressive face filled with curiousity, meekness, love, and immense joy.

Maisy has a body type that is petite and delicate. For all her slender, graceful refinement, Maisey is filled with pluck and vigor. She has a winsome, brave little soul, and is incredibly delighted to be in care. Sometimes she is so filled with happiness that she forgets to be timid, and hurtles herself into her caregiver's lap. She is quite agile and athletic.

Maisy's demeanor is sweetly comical as she samples and explores for the first time in her life the wonders of being inside a real house.

She loves to play with other dogs, and she uses them carefully as her guides to appropriate behavior. Consequently, she is impeccably housetrained, a tribute to the merits of her canine foster siblings, and she loves having toys. She is working hard on "sit", and she now delights in recognizing her own name.

Initially shy with new humans, each successive day in care has engendered greater hope, confidence, and optimism in Maisy. She is touchingly grateful for everything she receives. She is extremely alert, and has already given herself the important job of announcing when someone comes to the door. She is gaining a more independent nature, but is still somewhat unsure of herself, and sudden movements do tend to startle her. Her adopter(s) will find in Maisy a dog who would bond utterly and devoutly - she takes nothing for granted, and seems a bit concerned that at any moment, all the wonderful things in her life could suddenly disappear again.

Maisy is gentle, affectionate, and loves all creatures. She is currently being treated for heartworms, but due to her own fortitude and the fact that she is young, she will make complete recovery. he will also make a wonderful and devoted companion for her adopter(s), and will reward their love and encouragement with genuine appreciation and absolute loyalty.
