More About John-Boy
Did you ever imagine a dachshund and a pittie would get together? Well, I am what that would look like! My name is John-Boy. I am a sweet, friendly, affectionate little guy, probably about 1-2 years old. I am a cool, laidback dude! And I am chock full of personality, very friendly and outgoing, even in stressful situations. I was picked up as a stray by a man in a white truck, and even then I was a sweetheart. When the DREAM lady came to get me at the animal control (where they said my time was up, whatever that means), I was wagging my tail the whole time. I have a pretty brindle coat, the body of a dachshund, and the face of a pittie, but I weigh only about 15 pounds. I love to ride in the car, I take treats very gently, and I would love some doggie playmates. At my foster home, there is a tiny little doggie named Sissy. She keeps me on my toes, I tell ya! I play with her gently cause she is so much smaller than me, but when I'm playing with the toys by myself, I have so much fun just slinging them around and tossing them, seeing where they'll land! I'm learning about squeekies, and I think they are going to be something I really like. Another thing I really like is cuddling and cozying up to my person on the sofa. I'm shy at first, but quickly warm up to people who are kind to me.
DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta/North Georgia area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of the metro-Atlanta area. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachsies' back. If you are interested in adopting John-Boy, you can fill out an application right at our website! Go to www.dreamrescue.org/Adopt. Then click on Our Online Application. John-Boy's adoption fee is $200. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. John Boy will go to his new home microchipped, neutered, up to date on vaccinations and heartworm tested. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees. You can also see DREAM's blog, The Rescue Life, at www.dreamdachshundrescue.wordpress.com, and follow us on twitter.
John-Boy is
up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.
