More About Toby

Toby was signed over to ORCA by his owner because she went into full-time medical care and could no longer care for him. Basically, Toby was confined to a crate and all but forgotten by those still around him. We believe that Toby may be a cockapoo and might be around one year in age, but these are only our best guesses.

Toby is currently in foster care. He is almost there with his housebreaking, only very rarely making a mistake. He needs someone who understands that this is a process and who will be patient and consistent with him as he continues to learn the house rules.

Toby is young and exuberant and extremely active, in truth, he is hyper! He seems to have a need to make up for the time he lost as a prisoner of his crate and who can blame him? He will need a home that understands this and enjoys a very active dog. Toby loves long walks/hikes and any activity that allows him to exercise and play every day. Due to his high energy level and the fact that he guards his resources (chew treats, toys, etc.) we believe that Toby is best suited for a home without very young children or other dogs.

Toby is a sweet and affectionate boy, very lovable and would make a great companion in an active household with no other dogs. He is looking eagerly for his perfect match!

As a general rule, ORCA adopts only to persons residing within Lancaster County, PA. We do not adopt to families seeking an outside pet. A home visit will be conducted for final approval. A moderate fee is required to partially defray the cost of maintaining this animal in foster care and to allow ORCA to continue providing vital rescue services to animals in need in Lancaster County, PA.

Toby is available for immediate adoption and is waiting anxiously to meet his new family. If you have room in your life, home and heart for Toby, please call the ORCA hotline at 717-397-8922 . Please also tell the volunteer that you are interested in adopting Toby and include a home and work number as well as the best time(s) to call. You may also send email to orcarescue1@yahoo.com
