More About Pippin

Pippin has done very well in foster care. We know nothing about her background, but when we rescued her, she was pitifully thin & filthy with matted hair, fleas, & a severely diseased mouth. She is obviously older & was spayed, suggesting she had a human that cared for her at one time. Pippin has gotten needed medical attention & grooming. She now weighs about 7-8 pounds & has revealed an endearing, quirky personality. She almost certainly has a large percentage of Dachshund in her makeup as she loves beds she can burrow into & games that encourage her to use her nose to root. She gets along well with cats & has several dog buddies, but does not like boisterous dogs. Pippin seems to have had some trauma in her past as she seems afraid of injury anytime she or any other dog gets too excited. Her xrays reveal no problems & she scampers in the yard when she feels safe. She is initially shy, but very loving once she feels secure. Due to her nervousness, we would recommend against a home with young children. She would be a great fit for an inactive, quiet home.

For more information on Pippin, please contact her foster mom, Leslie at lmhandvtm@msn.com or 540-297-3696.
