Collie, Shepherd [Mix]

This shelter is full and as a senior who has been there too long, Jessie is urgent. All dogs at this shelter are temperament tested and Jessie has a very high rating "good for first time owner". To foster or foster to adopt Jessie, contact Mature Dog Adoptions (contact info. outside of this text). Shelter staff state: "Jessie has a gorgeous soft plush coat and is very mild mannered. Sweet, calm, gentle dog! She is very spry, does not act her age; I took her to a local radio station and she beat me up 3 flights of stairs! She should be fine with a first time owner and older children. She was raised with kids and while I think she'd be fine with them, she'd probably be best in a mature home. Jessie is a 10 year spayed female Collie x Shepherd. Jessie was surrendered by her owners as she is not good with cats. She needs a home without any small critters! Jessie would likely enjoy being your only pet, but may be okay to live with another mild-mannered dog. This pet also is eligible for 30 days of pre-paid pet health insurance." Jessie probably came from a country home as she is strong on leash and seems to have had a home with land with no leash experience.
