Catahoula Leopard Dog

What a dish! Buttermilk is as charming, personable, and sweet as she is beautiful. She has obviously had some pups recently and is ready to be the pampered pet she should have been all along. She was found by a family that had another dog and a 5-year-old kid in the home. In reality, this girl found them and was hanging around their house for about two weeks before they brought her in. She got along very well with both the other dog (the two ate out of the same food bowl without incident) and the child in the home. She has done very well with the other dogs she’s met here, as well. She is incredibly tolerant of all manners of rude play and only has given vocal corrections when they have been called for. She would make a great addition as a second dog but would also love to be an only child and soak up the attention she obviously didn’t get in her former life. She is not inclined to want to climb under your skin for love but leans in gently when you pet her. She seems to have a smile for everyone and just seems like a stable, capable heartbreaker of a dog. Buttermilk has wonderful manners and is highly responsive to her handler. She is playful with both dogs and humans at times (and will become more so, we’d imagine) but never gets carried away. This girl is a phenomenal find. JP
