Shepherd, Alaskan Malamute [Mix]

Ever had a day when you thought you'd get to work early, then you spot a stray dog in need of help. I just couldn't leave him alone on the street since he was headed for a high traffic area. Then I found out from a neighbor that Champ Wedgewood had been in the neighborhood for almost a week!

It appears he had been dropped off in the Wedgewood Farms area with big beautiful homes. People think just by dropping there pets off in a nice neighborhood that someone will surely take them in.

This wasn't the case for poor Champ Wedgewood. I took him to the shelter but no one came to claim him in three weeks. He is heartworm positive and will need to go through heartworm treatment. So we've made the commitment to get this boy well! If you can help out with a donation to show Champ Wedgewood you think he is worth saving, he'll be so happy to know you care.

He is about 8 years old and just the sweetest temperment and very well-mannered. Dr. Ruth WIlburn sort of fell for me when she met me yesterday. She drew my blood to run a senior panel and check it for heartworm too. She said it didn't appear that I had them real bad. The results will be back later today to see if I can be treated for my heartworms. Please say a little prayer for me.

Save 1 Pet is a 501 C 3 approved charity committed to helping homeless aniamls. We don't have a facility (shelter) but work out of our homes and foster the animals until they can find a forever home.

Please be advised that for all adoptions, we will conduct reference checks, including veterinary references. Our adoption fee for dogs is $95 which includes spay/neuter, heartworm check, current vaccines, worming and heartworm/flea/tick prevention.
For dog adoptions, we do conduct fence verifications.

When adopting an animal, you will be asked to complete our Adoption Contract.
