More About Holly

Welcome Holly to the Paws family! She just arrived in foster care a couple of days ago and we are just getting to know her. New pictures will be posted soon.

Holly will be one year old toward the end of October. Sadly, she was born in a shelter and was adopted by an elderly woman who was told Holly wouldn't get very big. Well, she got too big and her owner had her hands full, so she was forced to return Holly to the shelter. She has been there since, waiting for a new leash on life and Paws was able to bring her into foster care.

Holly is very energetic and being a young dog, she is active. She is a bit unsure of her surroundings at the moment and foster mom thinks she is just a bit overwhelmed. She was an only dog in her previous home, so she doesn't have much dog experience and her foster home has three dogs and three cats. Holly is finding out about the cats! She's very curious, but the cats don't tolerate too much nosing, so she is learning to leave them alone. She gets along great with the two male dogs in the house. The one female is very dominant, so Holly is learning to walk WAAAAY around her. Holly just needs to gain some confidence and figure out what all the change is about. She is a bit stressed right now, but hopefully she will settle down.

Holly loves people and attention and she enjoys going for walks and would make an excellent walking or running partner. She might be a bit much for small children, as she is big and not always aware of her size. She rides nicely in the car and is crate trained, spayed and UTD on all her vaccinations. She is a very, very good girl, just needs some attention and to brush up on her manners a bit. She catches on quickly, so she is at an excellent age to begin obedience lessons or perhaps work with an older child in a 4-H dog program.

Please email with any questions or to find out more about Holly. She is a great dog. Her only crime was getting too big for her elderly owner. Can you find room in your heart and home for Holly? You won't be disappointed.

Holly is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.
