More About Taffy

Taffy is a 2 year old tortoiseshell cat. She was found by the original owner injured and her wound on her legs was full of maggots. The owner read on the Internet that hydrogen peroxide kills them, and they poured hydrogen peroxide in the wound. They left her to heal without pain meds or help from a vet.
The family dumped her in the Denton shelter and is now left with stumps. We are trying to raise funds to get for her surgery to make her legs even and help her with her pain.
Taffy gets around in her extra large, very padded crate. The vet. feels she would do great after her surgery in a carpeted home. She would not do well with any stress and would be better suited to a home with no other pets.
She has a low litter box that is easy for her to get in and out of. Just like most cats, she never misses the box and she covers everything up. She scoots around real well but she does have pain.
She needs more funds to finish her surgery as the donations we have received so far, has only covered her consults, x-rays and meds.
Her legs are not even, which means one is longer then the other. They need to be the same length or the shorter one needs to be taken off at the ball joint. The shorter leg's bone is a sharp point (that was revealed while she was x-rayed) that when she puts weight on it to scoot, it jabs her and she screams.
Taffy has been through so much and deserves to be treated with love and care, just like any other animal.
Any donation would be appreciated no matter how small, as it would go to helping Taffy have a better, pain free life.
If you would like to donate to Taffy's further needs, you can mail them to Shirlee Smith (Treasurer) at 4340 E Gus Thomasson Rd #158, Mesquite, TX 75150 or you can call in a donation to Keli Halteman (972) 226-0265 or (972) 375-8709. Just tell them it is for Taffy's care.
