More About Spanky

Meet Spanky. This wonderful girl is looking for a new home where she can live forever. Spanky came into rescue in pretty bad shape, she actually was almost dead. Spanky is diabetic and her owner had not been taking care of her and she wilted away to almost nothing, she went from about 80lbs down to 48lbs. Spanky also lost her vision due to cateracts and is now totally blind. The owner actually was going to have her euthanized but we convinced him to turn her over to rescue instead and boy are we glad we did. Spanky is 6 years old, she is spayed, microchipped and current on vaccines. Spanky is 100% housetrained (has never has an accident in the house) and is also crate trained if needed. We have Spanky's diabetes very well managed but she will require a very special owner who will continue to feed her every 12 hours and give her insulin at that time. We have purchased a glucometer and we will give that to her new owner so they can spot check her blood glucose. Spanky does require almost 3 vials of insulin per month as well as a 30lb bag of W/D dry dog food monthly as well. We have been adding fresh cut veggies and oatmeal to her meals as well as fish oil capsules which she enjoys. This special girl deserves an equallly wonderful home which I am sure in time she will find. If you would like more information please fell free to visit our website at www.LVDDR.com and/or call Brenda at 702-256-0321. PLEASE CONSIDER MAKING A TAX DEDUCTABLE DONATION FOR SPANKY SO WE CAN CONTINUE TO CARE FOR HER UNTIL A FOREVER HOME CAN BE FOUND.
