More About Rocco

Rocco is a wonderful black lab mix who was found as a stray. This little guy was rescued by a family who saw him running through the neighborhood with a cucumber in his mouth! After a few days of coxing he finally came close enough to GRAB. Although scarred, he never showed any aggression; just fear and for the first few days, he just laid in the corner of a crate in a tight little ball afraid to look up . Rocco is in a great foster home now, living with four other doggie friends. He gets along so well will other dogs that he has been enrolled in day care at Paws by the Lake. He is a favorite of the staff and has great fun with his day care pals. Rocco is also in obedience school and is the class star. The instructor Chris Doss, often uses Rocco as an example of how a dog should follow a command. All of these activities are designed to increase Rocco's confidence and help him overcome his shyness. He is making great progress. However, Rocco is still fearful at times, especially with men. Rocco favors the ladies so we hope to find him a "female leader". He will need an adopter who is familiar with rescue dogs and understands that he needs time to settle into his new life. We want to slowly introduce Rocco to his new home so the adjustment is smooth. Rocco is a sweet, loving and affectionate dog. He wants so much to please his humans. If you just put some time and patience into Rocco, you will have a best friend for life. Rocco is neutered. He is vaccinated and tested negative for heartworm. A fence would be great for him. He is about 9 months old, 50 pounds, housebroken and crate trained. We are looking for a local adoption for Rocco within a 40 mile radius of Avon Lake. If interested in Rocco, please contact Leanne at leannejmazey@yahoo.com Please visit our website for a complete list of available dogs and upcoming events www.love-a-stray.petfinder.com

Rocco is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.
