More About Cain

Cain is an American Bulldog. He is neutered and has current shots. Cain ,7 years old and 98 lbs., is housebroken and can be left alone without being destructive. He can also be left in a crate. He has a great personality. This handsome guy is laid-back and also enjoys walking. Cain is good with female dogs as evident since he lives with 3 of them . He hasn't been exposed to male dogs. He is good with cats and children of all ages. At the present time, Cain has heartworm disease. Hopefully, he will be treated before going to his new home. Please read his story submitted by his owner. Hi my name is Cain. I’m a seven year old American Bulldog in search of a new loving home. I’ve lived a very rough life. As a puppy my life was pretty good although I lived most my life outside. My owner loved me very much but at times was just too busy. The first few years were okay although I would have loved to have had a nice cozy spot indoors. After a few years, we moved to the city. That’s when things turned really bad. I was still kept outside and at times it seemed like I was forgotten. Sometimes ,I went many days without food and fresh water. Eventually hunger got the best of me and I started climbing the fence in search of food .Even then things didn’t work out very well. The dog catcher saw me and off to the pound I went. I was very scared but at least there I got a meal and was indoors for once. The scariest thing was the fact that I would be put to sleep if my owner didn’t come to get me. After spending a day at the pound ,my current owner who has known me all my life came to my rescue. I was so happy to see her .I knew she would make things okay. She paid fines and claimed me as her own. She got me vaccinated, licensed, microchipped and neutered. Then shetook me to stay with her. She lives in a fairly small apartment and has three other dogs. She also has two cats so there wasn’t much space for me but she made it work. I had a bit of food aggression but can you blame me? I never knew when I would get my next meal so I defended every meal as if it were my last. Once I got used to having my two meals a day, I realized it would always be there so I got rid of my aggression. Although my food aggression was never towards people just other dogs, my owner did not like that. She even put me to the test and made me share my food with her other dog .I did okay. She was very proud of me. When I first came to live here ,I was very curious of the cats and liked to chase them but I quickly learned my lesson after getting clawed in the nose (Ouch). Now I leave the kitties alone. My owner says I’ve done a complete 180° and now I’m ready to find a forever home. I’m good with kids. My owner has three kids in our home ages are 3 yrs., 7 yrs. and 14 yrs. So I’m good with all ages. I’m also good with female dogs. I’m not sure how well I’ll do with male dogs because I currently live with only female dogs. The time I lived outdoors my job was to guard so I will protect my family with my life. I am a very big lap dog if given the chance, and all I ask for is food, water, love and a cozy indoor home. Do you think you can give me a FOREVER home?

Cain is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.
