More About Jolene

Female/Spayed, tri colored, 12 lbs

(12/17/09) We have discovered that Jolene is partially blind. According to her doctor, she has retinal dysfunction which could lead to blindness. It appears as if she has periferal vision but not 'straight on' vision. She can carry on life quite normally (to the point where one does not even suspect vision problems), but occationally, she will walk into a wall (so to speak).

And as if her vision problems weren't enough, Jolene also has (pituitary dependent) Cushings. (We are told that the two are unrelated.) We are in the process of regulating her disease with medication. Her doctor gives her an excellent prognosis since she was so young when her Cushings was discovered. As always, we'll keep you posted on her progress.

(10/09/09) Jolene is a shy, reserved, sweet girl who is affectionate and VERY willing to please. She will need a quiet, stable home environment where routine is the norm. A stay-at-home caregiver would be excellent for Jolene’s temperament. She gets along well with other dogs & cats.

There is an adoption fee for this pet which includes: Altering (spay/neuter), Vaccines, Fecal test , Heartworm/Tick Test, microchip. For more information on this subject, please see our Petfinder Home Page.

If you would like to meet Jolene, you can ‘cut & paste’ an application from our Petfinder Home Page or email us at AnimalHouseCo@comcast.net for an application. Please send your application to animalhouseco@comcast.net or fax it to 717-737-7057. PLEASE REFRAIN FROM CALLING THE ANIMAL HOUSE. We also operate a business and cannot be distracted from our duties. Once we receive your completed application, we will call and speak with you (hopefully within a few days). Thank you for your patience and understanding.
