Australian Shepherd [Mix]

We adopted Daisy, a seven month old Australian Shepherd mix, on February 22, 2008. We were looking for a large dog, but none of the ones available were suitable, and the ones who were suitable were not available. After applying for three other dogs and losing out on each of them, on our sixth trip to the shelter, I spotted this puppy with her brother. I had to do some major convincing of my husband to get him to even consider her. Of course now Daisy is spoiled rotten (by my husband, of course). He built a platform/bed on top of her crate, so she could look out the window while snoozing up there. He always saves the last bit of his meals for her. She gets so excited when she hears his key in the door that her tail wags in complete circles. She is incredibly agile and able to climb over five foot driveway gates, so some home modifications had to be done for her, but she is worth it! Daisy is loved by all my child care kids and their parents, as she is pretty darn tolerant of the kids. Now if I could only get her to play with her own toys and leave the kids’ toys alone! Sue & Mike
