qantas2602@yahoo.com.tw Apolo is part of
our international rescue efforts and will be flown to the Bay Area (YVR)
Vancouver International Airport on the next transport ONLY if a permanent
home can be found for Her/him beforehand. Please consider Apolo for your new
addition. There is a $500 adoption fee (Cash or Paypal only) which
goes to help cover only a portion of each dog's medical and transport expenses.
A home check will also be required because we do want to be sure that each dog
goes to an environment suited to them. Please note that we don't have shelter
facility in Canada, so please considering carefully
before this overseas adoption.
Please note: Apolo
is very affectionate and cuddly. Whenever we go to his foster mom's place to
visit him, he would stand up with his rear legs and hug me with his front legs.
If you have very young children at home, this might be a bit dangerous.
Feb 17th 2009 updated medical info of Apolo: Apolo has very minor hypdisplasia which Dr. Lin said it does not require any operation. Apolo does not feel pain when he walks or runs. His new mom and dad just need to give him glucosamin daily to maintain the condition of his joint. Apolo can still live like normal dogs doing normal activities. (Please see attached X-rays.)

More about Apolo:
Apolo had been dumped by a lady in a small township in central Taiwan. The noodle shop owner checked their surveillance camera and found a lady tied up a quite big dog in front of the shop against the pole of a street lamp. The shop owner untied his leash and let him free and thought maybe he would find his way home. But after half day, the dog came back to the noodle shop. And for the whole week the dog was there. He probably was waiting for his owner to show up at the same spot where she had dropped him off.

It was a very busy main road in front of the noodle shop and a couple of times the dog went to the middle of the busy road started roaming. It was very dangerous and a nice lady had reported to the animal hospital so the dog was then taken back to the clinic.

We named him Apolo and found he really likes to retrieve things. Apolo is extremely friendly to everyone and all dogs and cats. He especially likes to be with people. Whenever he was let out in the front of the clinic; he would follow us around to check on patients. Apolo walks on leash and harness very well. He has a wonderful temperament and is playful.
We had run a series of health checks on Apolo and found he was positive for heartworm and after treatments Apolo is fully cured and back to perfect health. His latest PCR test result has shown negative for heartworm. Apolo has gained 8.8 pounds since he came to the clinic.

We all wonder why the lady abandoned Apolo. He is such a friendly and good tempered dog and no bad habits. The only reason we could think of was because the previous owner found out Apolo was sick and had no money or did not want to spend money to treat him. Apolo must have wondered and felt horrified why his owner had just left him there and disappeared.

If you think Apolo would be a great fit to your family, please give him a chance to feel being loved and pampered. This loyal dog would be your best companion and you will soon fall in love with him. Please let us know if you have any queries or concerns about Apolo’s adoption. Thank you for consider giving Apolo a forever home.
