Hound, Labrador Retriever [Mix]

On a recent vacation. one of Lizzy's Friends befriended Maarten, who was abandoned in St. Maarten about 6 months ago as a youngster. His human companion came to St. Maarten on a boat, docked in Great Bay and brought Marten with him to the nearby restaurant several times. Several weeks passed and the dog kept visiting at dinner time, promptly at 8 every night, but without the owner. "Maarten", now abandoned, took refuge in a neighboring shipyard, digging himself a 3 foot hole in the sand, under a big back hoe, to stay cool and sheltered from the island sun and storms. Lizzy's Friends believe in helping where they can, so they made another trip to the island and escorted him back to the US. He is a young lab mix (1.5 yrs or so), reddish gold in color with a wonderful disposition, but we think now he would do best in an adult home without cats but a cute girl dog would be great!!. Please show this young fellow that Americans care...
