More About Kiani
Well...let's see....They continue to remain bonded. Kade is very social with the other dogs and Kiani is much more reserved. She does play with the other dogs but on her own terms. She is never aggressive. Kade is never aggressive.
This breed of dog is extremely docile and were never meant to be protectors as they love humans and are not aggressive. They are content to lounge in the shade or in the grass when it is sunny. They howl every Saturday at noon when the tornado siren test is conducted. They do not bark unless they sense a presence on the other side of the fence or unless they want out or in. Oh what else....
They eat twice a day. Kade eats less than Kiani. Kade is more active than Kiani...she is a little heavy right now :) We have reduced her portions and we are starting to see some results. They are great leash walkers. They love to walk on a leash. When they see a leash in our hands they get very excited. They sleep inside at night but prefer to be out during the day as long as it is cool. I have a big covered back porch and they have a favorite corner where they like to hang out and watch everything...even when it is raining...they love it. I usually leave the ceiling fan on for them at night...on low.
Kade likes to play with big toads and is good at catching them. I try to rescue the poor toads before they are damaged! Both dogs are fascinated with big flower pots. They like the dirt and will tip them to roll in the soft potting soil. I have secured my pots so they can't tip them. They only tip the ones in the covered porch, not the ones around the pool :)
Kade loves to ride in my car. I roll the window down about 5 or 6 inches and he hangs his head out the window and looks at everything. They are just wonderful dogs who deserve the best!
1/29/08: Here is the latest update on Kiani and Kade from their foster mom. Sounds like these two are wonderful dogs who would prefer an inside home with a fenced yard.
The kids are doing well and have completed heartworm treatment. Kiani got an OK check up from the doctor a few weeks back. They are both back to their weights prior to treatment. They just keep loving to be inside in their own little pad with each other. They don't like to be outside too much...on warmer days they roll around in the grass and play with the other four members of my pack. Kiani does not care much for the pack...she will tolerate the other dogs but she is much more inclined to only want to be around Kade alone. When the pack comes outside with the two...she waits by the door implying that she wants to sit inside and look out the window. Kade is completely house trained and Kiani is nearly trained. They are still two of the most loving dogs I have ever met. Kade is a big teddy bear and Kiani thinks she is human.
12/14/08 - Good news! Kiani and Kade have found a wonderful indoor foster home. They have started Heartworm treatment and will be ready for their forever homes once they recover from their treatment. Their foster mom reports that these two are the sweetest dogs. Please consider offering them a home together where they will live inside as part of the family. Fenced in yard required.
11/22/08: Thank you to doggie angel Elizabeth for partially sponsoring Kiani and Kade. These two are in urgent need of a foster home...please help!
9/28/08: Kiani - Gorgeous diva Husky alert! Kiani and her brother, Kade (also listed), were abandoned at a local gym. We know they were dumped because they made no effort to run - they just were standing in the parking lot waiting for their owner to return. How sad is that? This bonded brother and sister would love to be adopted together - Husky lovers know how strong the pack bond can be with this breed. Please consider giving these two a wonderful loving forever home.
