More About Ava

Ava is your true typical black lab. If anyone has owned a lab, you know the first 2-3 years of their lives are very active and can be very challenging. She loves other dogs but can be touchy at dinner time with her food dish. She will play and play and then you literally hear her bones hit the floor where she will crash for her nap. She would make a great companion in a quiet home with another dog. First impressions of Ava are: barky, barky, and barky. It does take some time for her to get used to new people. She will eventually come to you and she is fine, but you have to get past that bark.... (just need to be honest with anyone interested in applying for her). Ava will require some leash training. While in the perfect world, we would love to offer more training to our rescued dogs, it does not always happen. We have worked with her some, but still needs to be refreshed now and then. She is not a terrible walker, just wonders when walking. Ava will go in her crate and sleep thru the night, but would prefer if you were in the room with her when it is time to settle in. She is truly a love, but if you have no experience with a labbie, she might not be the dog your looking for. If you have every owned a lab and have had similar experiences, and are willing to give her a chance, she would make a great addition to your family; she just needs that 'special' person to give her this chance. Did I mention, she comes with slurpy kisses. Thank you for reading about Ava. **Ava is a beautiful black lab that is around 10 months old and weighs around 50 pounds. She stands around 18-20 inches high. She is not a large black lab as most, but medium sized. **

Ava is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.
