More About Sassyfras

Date Available For Adoption: Adoption Pending!

History: Sassy here was part of a cruelty investigation. Apparently, this poor girl was kept chained up in the front of someone's yard and was starved to near death.

Bio: We're still taking time to learn Sassy's personality but so far, she's such a biddable, goofy character. She loves to lean on you and enjoys good neck scritches. She's also getting along quite well with dogs of all sizes :) And babies, she LOVES! I think she knows kids have 'cheeto fingers' :)

Approximate Age: 2-4 years.

Approximate Weight: Currently about 40lbs. May reach 50lbs.

Miscellaneous Information: Folks, Ms. Sassy here is what many people nowadays know as an American Bully. It's a relatively new 'breed' generated over the last too decades to look a bit different from the American Pit Bull Terrier. Although these dogs are VERY similar to pit bulls and are marketed as such, they are very much different dogs as far as body structure and potential athletic ability. Many American Bully fanciers like to tout that their breed doesn't and will not wind up in shelters because of what they are and how expensive they are (we're talking $2,000 plus in many circumstances). Well...we hate to be the bringer of bad news but these dogs can and DO end up in shelters. No amount of money or reflection on status can ever protect these dogs from the abuse they are very frequently subjected to. Please, just remember that!

We are pleased to announce that we are now offering 30 days of pet insurance as a gift to our adopters! Ask us for more information!

NHPBR is a federally recognized 501c3 tax exempt organization and we rely on caring people like you to help make a difference in the lives of pit bulls!
