Labrador Retriever

Hi everyone, my name is Ruger and I'm a handsome 5 year old purebred registered Black Labrador Retriever. I LOVE to play ball and chase around the yard. I'm an active boy and really like kids who will play with me. When I was at my former home I was kept in a kennel all day and allowed to roam free on my own in the evenings. So I am kennel trained but this time I would really like a home where I get more attention from my people. I came to the shelter after my people had to move and couldn't take a dog where they were going, even me! I am a very good boy. I don't dig and I'm quiet until someone drives in. I think I would be a good hunting dog if someone would train me on what to do. I have a lightening bolt shaped mark on my nose, kind of like Harry Potter, and I think that makes me look mysterious and distinguished. When I came to the shelter I went to the doctor for some tests and I tested positive for heartworm. I had some nasty treatments for a couple of months but it turned out fine and I feel great!
