WE DO NOT ACCEPT PHONE CALLS. IT WILL DISQUALIFY YOUR APPLICATION.

Most of our dogs are strays, so the breed is our best guess.

Please note that the first step is the application. Make sure before filling out an application that you have seriously considered adoption and have talked it over with all family members. You must also have a good idea that you like the dog you have seen on our site, as we do not preapprove applicants for a future dog that may come along.

Applications are available on our homepage. Fluffy Dog Rescue

Note: We do not adopt to families with children under the age of six and stick to this policy, as it is part of our insurance policy. We also only adopt in WI & IL. At times we are able to work with people in the Minneapolis area. Please also only to apply if you are ready to adopt now. We do not hold dogs or keep applications should a dog fit your needs in the future.

MY AGE: Approx. 2 yrs.
WEIGHT:25 lbs.
WHERE I AM FROM:TN
MY STORY: She is a lap dog for sure! If I am on the couch, she is next to me, or on my lap. If I am cooking, she lays in the middle of the kitchen. She even follows me to the bathroom. She loves to rest her head on a person, as in the pic. Thius, her nickname "Velcro". I will get better pics (that one is sweet, but doesn't show her very well) soon. She is really smart - already picking up on little things. For example, when we are going for a walk, I will check the house one last time before we leave, and she already knows that, and walks in front of me while I am making my rounds. We have friends that live around the corner that have a fenced in yard, and she already knows where we are going when I tell them we are going to see Macy - she turns into the driveway when we get near. She knows "no" and "sit" and is COMPLETELY HOUSEBROKEN! Since she hops (in her front half) her ears flop around. Her ears turn inside out, and still flop when she walks! It is SO CUTE! And NOTHING is going to keep her down! She has the best attitude, just wanting to meet everyone she sees. She stands on her back legs so there is an easier opportunity to pet her. Isn't that thoughtful? Dollah is an incredibly sweet girl. She is very loving and gentle, but is also playful and loves to play with other dogs or with people. She has taken the amputation of her leg in stride and has maintained an upbeat attitude. We think if there was ever such a thing as agility for disabled dogs, she could compete on a very high level. She has no problem with steps or jumping straight up in the air. She can jump on the couch and on the bed as well as any dog with 4 legs. She gets along great with other dogs and is very personable and people friendly. We are very glad that we could save her life and have the privilege of caring for this very special girl. She really is not a "special needs" kind of dog and really doesn't need any special care. We have also discovered that Dollah likes to chase cats...not to hurt them, but more as a sport, but she would upset a household with cats that will participate in her chase by running from her, so we recommend a home without cats. We think she would do best in an active household where she has plenty of interaction with members of the family, and possibly children that will play with her on a daily basis. She likes to be close to people and does not like to spend her whole day alone. She is not hypoallergenic and does shed.
