More About MINIAUSSIE Liberty

Liberty is a 6 year old black tri female, with the sweetest face and markings, and cutest little natural bob tail. She stands at about 15 inches tall. She is a bit overweight at 34 pounds and is working on losing those extra pounds with some extra play time and fewer cookies! She is fully housebroken and crate trained and overall a very intelligent dog. When she came into rescue, she knew very little about manners. Since being in rescue, she has taken some basic lessons in obedience and socialization and now knows her basic commands. In addition, she has learned how to roll over and dance! She is highly food motivated and easy to teach. She has a strong herding instinct and LOVES to work. She would love a home where someone could continue her training and give her a job to do each day.

Liberty is a high energy dog who loves to play with her toys. She will happily run in her fenced yard chasing toys and interacting with her people. At the end of the day, she puts herself to bed in her crate without even being asked. She is very affectionate and loyal to the people that she calls her own and thoroughly enjoys being petted and massaged by them. She has a bit more than the typical aussie reserve with strangers and with new situations. Unfortunately, Liberty didn’t get out much in her previous home, so her foster family is attending group obedience classes with her so she can learn about new dogs, people, and situations. As she learns appropriate behaviors, she can better enjoy future outings with her new family. If approached gently and given some time, she will warm up and accept the new person or situation. Leash walking has been a new experience for her but she has learned that there is someone else on the end of the leash! She is learning much about the world around her on her walks and continues to improve every day. She loves to go for car rides! But most of all, she enjoys anything that involves spending time with the people she loves.

Liberty would do best in an experienced home as the only pet as her herding instincts tend to take over when she is around other animals. Most of all, she is looking for that special someone to love and share her loyalty and life with.

Liberty is being fostered in PA. Her adoption donation is $150, plus the cost of transport if necessary. If you are interested in Liberty, please complete an Adopter Information Form from our website at www.miniaussierescue.org – we cannot start the process without that form. Once completed, you can email the completed form to mars_midatlantic@yahoo.com.
