More About Napoleon
**Update**Due to ongoing health issues, Napoleon is in hospice care while at our rescue home setting.
Napoleon is still very underweight and has had some spinal impairment. He often cannot move his head/neck until given pain medication.
We aren't sure how much longer he has left but we're working hard to make his life full of happiness while he is here.
Napoleon arrived at our rescue on 3-24-09 (the 2nd photo is his 'before'/arrival photo).
He was found sitting in the middle of the road, a senior dog, beyond filthy, emaciated and with a bilateral ear infection and teeth that were so badly infected he had a hard time even eating.
He was in dire need of medical treatment which we provided immediately for him on 3-25-09.
The results, his bloodwork is excellent and his ears, while yeasty and dirty, have cleaned up nicely! He did require an extensive dental surgery however that proved to be very costly (See above).
Napoleon is not adoptable at this time, due to his fragile medical condition, including cervical spine impairment and nodules in his anal glands.
When appropriate and available, they get a rabies vaccination, and they have been dewormed at least once.
They come with a health record that reflects this at the time of adoption. They are also Microchipped and come with a free month of health insurance.**
If interested in adopting this pet please email us and request an application to complete and return via email.
This does not obligate you in any way but it does allow us to gather the necessary information to determine if this dog is a good match for your family. No meet and greets take place without a completed/approved application.
Important note: beginning in June of 2007, homes with children under 7 years of age will be required to enroll any puppies or adult dogs (at our discretion) adopted from us in puppy kindergarten and/or basic obedience classes.
**We DO allow out of state adoptions, but we DO NOT ship our pets, all adopters are required to pick up their new family member HERE, within a week of your application being completed and being approved to adopt.**
Please remember to visit your local city or county shelter, your dream dog could be there, waiting for his/her second chance!
Napoleon is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.
