More About Cherokee

Starving, Neglected horse seized by Warren County Sheriff Dept. and Vicksburg Warren Humane Society on February 12 2009 Still recovering and being treated by Vicksburg Warren Humane Society. Donations of Vet wrap, Bandages, Oats, and Shavings for her stall. On 4-25-09 Cherokee was moved to a foster location . Pending tenatid surgery at MS State University. Cherokee has gained almost 400lbs and grown one inch taller since her rescue. The more she has filled out the more we find scars from her life of abuse and neglect. We have also discovered that her tongue at one point was cut in half ( self Healed ) probably by a hard hard and improper bit. On 11-4-09, President Georgia Lynn, who has been working to get cherokee to a place where no harm can everhappen to her again, received notification that the Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch / sancuary in Texas has accepted her. Cherokee will live out her life at a place thats as close to heaven on earth as a horse can get. She finally can just be a horse among herown kind. This move will take place probably over the next couple of months - Anyone wishing to donate for her transport can mail Donations to P.O Box 820171-39182 Thanks. .
