More About Johnny & June
This sweet couple, who are destined to spend their lives together, have beeen adopted together! Congratulations Bober family - we are so grateful that they have found you!
Here's a couple of photos of Johnny and June. Two of the sweetest and most affectionate dogs we have had in quite a while!!
To look at them and see the scars, the atrophy in their backends and their lack of care, you just can't imagine the horrific life they had, but one thing is very clear, they are completely devoted to one another. They sleep with their heads resting on the other's body and are constantly preening and cleaning each other's face and ears. Sweet little June has no teeth to speak of - just wore completely down to her gums as though she chewed on a chain all day. Johnny has some scarring on his hind area of his right leg probably due to laying on concrete and loves to lay on the bed in our dog room. We are still getting to know them, but one thing is for certain, WE WILL NOT SEPARATE THESE TWO DOGS. They would be lost without each other.
There is a song on the Country charts "I Want A Love Like Johnny and June" that comes to mind when this sweet pair arrived at their foster home, after a very long journey from the south. Their transports shared by many volunteers along the way, all with nothing but wonderful things to say about them, but especially how much they adore each other.
Johnny is thought to be about 8 years of age and June is about 6. They were originally picked up as strays but their owner was eventually tracked down only to say they could no longer care for the dogs. They without a doubt show signs of wear, look older than they are and have probably lived a horrible life, but to meet them you would be amazed at how their personalities shine through.
Johnny is very tall and very handsome, a little shy at first but a total love in just a couple of minutes. June is very affectionate to everyone immediately and is so full of life, and is just as cute as she can be, weighing only 45 lbs, a very petite little girl. Both get along great with our other dogs, personal as well as foster dogs, and love our 12-year old grandson, as well as every other person they come in contact with! They are totally housebroken and are proving to be very trustworthy when left alone.
While they are still new to our home and our program, one thing is certain, we will NOT separate these sweet babies
. For more information and adoption consideration please contact their foster folks, Paul and Lillian at Doberman@Grics.net .
