More About Pearl
June 3, 2009 Update on Pearl: Sailing thru her heartworm treatment with flying colors (yay!), Pearl is now ready for her forever home who'll keep her on regular monthly heartworm preventive that she's now on.
Pearl, a Fox Terrier mix, was owner surrendered at a local animal control facility. She was very lightly heart worm positive and has been treated. Pearl has a great outgoing personality, happy to meet all who come her way. She is a little bossy with the other dogs, but is sweetly so. Clearly, she has been loved in her previous life, even if the owner neglected to give her routine heartworm preventive. Pearl is interested in her cat foster siblings, but she only nudges and sniffs them. She does not chase them.
Pearl is spayed, current on her shots and rabies prevention, and is housetrained.
AN ADOPTION FEE OF $150 IS REQUIRED FOR PEARL.
Please contact Lisa Trenthem at ltrenthem@gmail.com or 901-276-7751 if you are interested in fostering or adopting Pearl. If you are interested in adopting, copy these questions into an email, complete them, and forward to the contact person. Unless otherwise specified above in the dog's bio, adoption fees are $125.

We adopt dogs from Memphis Animal Shelter when we can. The shelter has an 83% euthanasia rate, one of the highest in the country. Unfortunately, any dog coming from Memphis Animal Shelter, and most other shelters for that matter, will have been in contact with contagious illness. Even though the dogs have been in foster care and appear to be in good health, they may become stressed when changing environments and exhibit signs and symptoms of illness. If you have other pets, they need to be up to date on vaccines before bringing a shelter dog into your home. We will take the adopted animal back, but we are not responsible for your other animal's vet care. We always disclose where the dogs have come from. Please ask for any information about the dogs and exercise due caution if you have immunocompromised animals.
Pearl is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.
