Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, Bearded Collie [Mix]

"Giant Lyle" is a comical mixed breed rescued from death row at a local shelter. We're not sure exactly what his mix is- he has the long body and short legs of a PBGV or Skye, the face of a beardie, briard or sheepdog, and is 55 pounds full grown (about 4-5 years old?). Giant can be nervous and aloof at first, but once you have earned his trust and respect he transforms into a lovable goofy puppy who loves belly rubs and playing with toys. He does well with most dogs especially smaller females. He LOVES car rides and going for walks, and is over-all a quiet well-mannered dog. He bonds very closely to one person and seems to prefer women over men. He is a good watchdog and may become protective- he needs a home that can manage this or put him away if visitors come. He would be a devoted companion for a single-person household, and will reward his adopter with years of laughter and loyalty. Now that he has settled in, his tail never stops wagging and we can tell he is so grateful to have been given a "Second Chance" at life. We do not have a shelter- all our pets are in foster homes or boarding kennels and can be seen by appointment only during the week, or at our weekly pet adoptions every Sunday at the Animal Clinic of Morris Plains from 12:30 to 3PM at 3009 Route 10 East next to 5 Star Car Wash (formerly Boulder Car Wash).
