More About Libby Lu

12/6/08 UPDATE: Libby was released from the hospital yesterday afternoon, she has gotten a bath and blow dry and is doing really well, especially considering everything she has been through! She will need to remain in isolation from other dogs for a few more weeks. Libbys medical bills were over $900...donations are welcome. please contact me directly for the info on where to send any donation. Libby is about 2 yrs old, and was turned into an animal shelter by her owners, we arent sure the reason, but we are sure that she was very neglected . She was full of sores from matted, dirty fur and fleas, her nails were so long it was a challenge for her to walk ...but she was still willing to be loved and love everyone she met right back! After a few days out of the shelter, Libby began to become lethargic and withdrawn, uninterested in eating...a visit with the vet and some blood work and urinalysis led us to believe that Libby had a very severe Urinary Tract Infection, but a day later Libbys condition did not improve so another visit to the vet triggered concern that she had Pyometra (uterine infection). She was prepped for an emergency spay, and put on IV fluids in order to stabilize her for the surgery. What we were not expecting to get was a call from our vet letting us know that Libby did not have pyometra, but was pregnant, so there was still the original concern unanswered...why is she not eating, vomitting water and lethargic....fortunately for all of us, our vet ran a parvo test and the results were shockingly positive. This poor little girl is dealing with some pretty major physical assults and yet she seems to want to stick around for part 2, when life gets good and she gets to live the spoiled life of a princess pommie girl!!! Fuzzy Dog Rescue is not a big organization,We are a couple of people who just try to help the animals we can. ...If you would be able to help financially support Libby by making a donation toward her medical expenses it would help us very much. Please email angel at mykeesie@Yahoo.com for information on how to make a donation for libbys care directly to the vet clinic. Thank you on behalf of Little Libby Lu!!!
