This shelter is made from a cooler or ice chest. The size you use depends on the number of cats that will use it. You only want the shelter to give them enough space to turn around and lay comfortably. Their body heat helps warm the space so if the space is too large it won't be as warm. The door is 5x7". This is a good size for cats to get in but to keep raccoons out. It should be 1/3 or so stuffed with straw (not hay) with the straw pushed away from the opening. The cat(s) will pad it down and push some up the walls when they make their nest in it.
