While Velma is still shy in new situations, she has made tremendous progress while in foster care. She is 99% potty trained and is improving on a leash. We have found that she prefers to wear a harness when walking and so looks forward to her walks!
When she see her leash, she gets so excited and jumps up and down letting us know she is ready to go.
She does great when we bath her and seems to enjoy all the attention.
Vel loves to snuggle on her foster Mom's lap and does join in and play with other foster dogs in our home.
If you have space on your lap, and want to love a very gentle sweet Westie girl....please consider Vel for your family.
Vel is a former breeding dog who was born 9/23/05. Prior to her arrival in rescue, Velma had never known a soft bed or the joys of living indoors.
Suggested adoption donation for Velma is $350-400, is tax deductible, and goes toward the high cost of vet care for all our rescue dogs.
A securely fenced yard is a requirement for all our Westies and Cairn Terriers. Invisible fencing is not considered appropriate or secure for a terrier! A resident dog will be a benefit when applying to adopt a former breeding dog, as they will learn how to be a pet from the resident dog.
Little White Dog Rescue adopts only to people living in states directly surrounding NE, and if chosen as Velma's new forever home, you must be willing to drive to Omaha to pick her up at your earliest possible convenience.
Vel~ADOPTED is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.
